Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 July 2026

SeaSecure B.V. respects your privacy and processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR” or “AVG”) and other applicable Dutch privacy laws.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal data when you visit seasecure.eu, seasecure.nl, or contact us through one of our websites.

1. Who is responsible for your personal data?

SeaSecure B.V., established in the Netherlands, is the data controller responsible for the processing of personal data described in this Privacy Policy.

For questions about this Privacy Policy or the processing of your personal data, you can contact us at:

SeaSecure B.V.
Email: info@seasecure.nl

2. What personal data do we collect?

Depending on how you use our websites or communicate with us, we may process the following personal data:

  • Your name;
  • Your email address;
  • Your telephone number, when provided;
  • The reason for contacting us;
  • The contents of messages or requests you submit;
  • Your IP address;
  • Technical information, such as browser type, device type, operating system and website activity;
  • Information about how and when you submitted a form;
  • Communication preferences, including your marketing preferences;
  • Other information that you voluntarily provide to us.

We ask you not to include unnecessary sensitive personal data, such as medical information, identification numbers or payment details, in a contact form or message.

3. How do we collect your personal data?

We may collect personal data when you:

  • Visit one of our websites;
  • Complete and submit a contact form;
  • Request information about SeaSecure or our insurance-related services;
  • Contact us by email, telephone or another communication channel;
  • Subscribe to or interact with our marketing communications.

Some technical information may be collected automatically when you visit our websites.

4. Why do we process your personal data?

We may process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your questions, messages and contact requests;
  • To provide information about SeaSecure and our insurance-related services;
  • To assess and follow up potential customer enquiries and leads;
  • To communicate with you about a possible business relationship;
  • To manage our customer and contact administration;
  • To send marketing communications where permitted;
  • To improve the operation, security and usability of our websites;
  • To prevent misuse, fraud and security incidents;
  • To establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

5. Legal grounds for processing

We only process personal data when we have a valid legal basis. Depending on the circumstances, we rely on one or more of the following legal grounds:

  • Consent: where you have given us permission to process your personal data, for example for certain marketing communications or non-essential cookies;
  • Steps before entering into a contract: where processing is necessary to respond to your request or discuss possible insurance-related services;
  • Performance of a contract: where processing is necessary to provide agreed services;
  • Legitimate interests: where processing is necessary for our legitimate business interests, such as responding to enquiries, managing leads, securing our websites and improving our services, provided that your rights and interests do not override those interests;
  • Legal obligations: where we are required to process or retain information under applicable law.

6. Contact forms and HubSpot

Our websites use HubSpot to manage contact forms, enquiries, communications and potential customer relationships. When you submit a form, the information you enter may be stored and processed within HubSpot.

HubSpot may also process technical information associated with your visit or form submission, such as your IP address, browser information, device information, referring page, pages visited and the date and time of your interaction, depending on our configuration and your cookie preferences.

HubSpot acts as a service provider and data processor on our behalf. HubSpot may use approved subprocessors to provide its services. Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, appropriate safeguards are used as required by applicable data-protection law.

More information about HubSpot’s processing practices is available in HubSpot’s own privacy documentation.

7. Marketing communications

We may send you emails about SeaSecure, our services or related subjects where we have your consent or another lawful basis to do so.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in the email or by contacting us at info@seasecure.nl.

Unsubscribing from marketing communications does not prevent us from sending non-marketing messages where necessary, such as replies to your enquiries or communications relating to an existing business relationship.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

Our websites may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the websites and their forms to function properly. HubSpot may also place or access cookies, depending on the website configuration and the choices you make through any available cookie settings.

Where legally required, we will request your consent before placing or accessing non-essential cookies. You may withdraw or change your consent through the cookie settings available on the website or through your browser settings.

Disabling certain cookies may affect the operation of parts of the website.

9. Do we sell or share personal data?

SeaSecure B.V. does not sell your personal data.

We do not disclose personal data to third parties for their own independent marketing purposes. We may, however, provide personal data to service providers that process information on our behalf, such as HubSpot and providers of website hosting, email, IT, security or professional support.

These service providers may only process personal data to provide their services to us and must protect the information in accordance with applicable agreements and privacy laws.

We may also disclose personal data when this is required by law, requested by a competent authority, necessary to protect our legal rights, or connected with a corporate transaction such as a merger, restructuring or transfer of business activities.

10. International data transfers

Some of our service providers or their subprocessors may process personal data outside the Netherlands or the European Economic Area.

Where this happens, we take appropriate measures to protect your personal data. These measures may include an adequacy decision adopted by the European Commission, Standard Contractual Clauses or another legally recognised transfer mechanism.

11. How long do we retain personal data?

We do not retain personal data for longer than is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

Contact enquiries and related correspondence may be retained for as long as necessary to respond to your request, follow up the potential business relationship and maintain appropriate business records. Marketing information may be retained until you unsubscribe or object to the processing.

We may retain certain information for a longer period when this is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, resolve a dispute, prevent misuse or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

When personal data is no longer required, it will be deleted, anonymised or securely archived where deletion is not immediately possible.

12. How do we protect your personal data?

We use appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access.

These measures include the use of SSL/TLS encryption for our websites, access controls and security measures applied by our hosting, email and customer-management service providers.

No method of online transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security, but we regularly consider whether our safeguards remain appropriate.

13. Your privacy rights

Subject to the conditions and exceptions contained in applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we process about you;
  • Request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
  • Request the deletion of your personal data;
  • Request that we restrict the processing of your personal data;
  • Object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
  • Object at any time to the use of your personal data for direct marketing;
  • Request the transfer of certain personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format;
  • Withdraw your consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

You can exercise your rights by emailing info@seasecure.nl. Please clearly describe your request. We may ask you to provide additional information to verify your identity before processing the request.

We will respond within the period required by applicable data-protection law. In most cases, this will be within one month of receiving a complete request.

16. Children’s privacy

Our websites and services are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children through our websites. If you believe that a child has provided personal data to us without appropriate permission, please contact us so that we can investigate and, where appropriate, delete the information.

17. Automated decision-making

SeaSecure B.V. does not use information submitted through its general website contact forms to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

18. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our websites, services, processing activities or legal obligations change. The latest version will always be published on our websites. The date at the top of this page indicates when the Privacy Policy was last updated.
